Is It Watermelon Time?

The word Sandia means watermelon in Spanish. The Spanish first entering the Rio Grande Valley in what is now Albuquerque New Mexico may have given that name to the mountains because at sunset they glow an incredibly bright pink. My family likes to call this phenomenon:
